YOUTH WORKER ASSISTANT

8 weeks – 35 hours per week
WE ARE HIRING!! RNJ Youth Services is a non-profit, charitable organization working with children, youth, families and adults in the communities of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville.
Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy that aims to provide flexible, holistic services to support all young Canadians develop the skills, and gain paid work experience to successfully transition in the labour market. RNJ Youth Services has received funding through this grant and is looking to hire for a full-time contract position.
We are seeking an individual who is innovative, creative, organized, and dependable and who are looking to develop skills in client service, communication and leadership. The successful candidate will work alongside our team to:
Research best practices in recreational and educational activities for youth
Develop and/or seek opportunities for recreation and educational activities for youth
Support the delivery of leisure, recreation, social and life skills programming
Utilize effective youth engagement strategies to support in the development and delivery of these activities
Promote these opportunities to youth
Support student learning
Be between 15 to 30 years of age (inclusive) at start of employment
High School Diploma (current education, experience and/or intention to study in a social service or recreation related field is an asset)
Keen interest in working with children and youth, education, recreation and leisure
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Excellent computer and social media skills
Valid Driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle (asset)
Ability to work flexible hours
We are looking to fill this position ASAP. The employee may be required the employee to work from home at times, due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
